Career Connected Learning 101

Leadership Foundations for Student Career and Life Readiness

This course is designed to help school and district leaders understand and implement career-connected learning strategies in their school systems to develop career readiness for all students. Specifically, this course will:

  • Help K-12 school and district leaders better understand the implications of workforce trends for education
  • Learn how to implement the Career and Life Readiness Framework (or their state’s version thereof)
  • Meet their state’s performance indicators for Career and Life Readiness
  • Strengthen employer and community partnerships to support Career Connected Learning
  • Examine strategies and best practices in Career Connected Learning, and
  • Increase communication and collaboration between K-12 school and district leaders and career and technical education (CTE) administrators.

Note: This course does not focus solely on CTE, rather the broader notion of career and life readiness for ALL students.


Your Instructor


Hans Meeder
Hans Meeder

Hans Meeder is co-founder and President of the National Center for College and Career Transitions (NC3T), a mission driven organization with the purpose of fostering Career Connected Learning strategies. Mr. Meeder has an extensive and varied career in education and workforce policy and government leadership, with an emphasis on college and career pathways, career and technical education, and workforce quality. Prior to founding NC3T, Hans served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Education in the U.S. Department of Education Office of Vocational and Adult Education. In this role, Meeder led the Department of Education’s High School Initiative and guided policy development for implementation of the Perkins Act and the Adult Education and Family Literacy Act. Mr. Meeder is the author of several books including his latest, The Power and Promise of Pathways.
